First off, welcome to our blog! I'm Kate, one of the owners/designers for Bambino Amore. My partner in crime is my mom, Robbie, who is the real brain-child behind Bambino Amore, but, she's more at home designing and sewing than blogging about it or taking to social media. So, you're kind of stuck with me - I'm not that bad, I promise.
You can find out a bit more about Bambino Amore, the company on our website's "Our Story" page, but, the short version is that we (mom + I) began making aprons in 2008 for our Etsy shop, using a pattern she drafted called The Jessie, which was named after mom's great-aunt. That pattern evolved in to a few other apron designs - all named after family members; The Eloise (named after my grandmother), The Emmeline Apron Top (named after my great-grandmother), The Jennie (named after my great-aunt), The Viola (named after my great-aunt), and you get the idea.
As time went on + our popularity grew, our apron line-up evolved and we began to offer our original pattern to help other crafters like ourselves gain extra income, make special handcrafted gifts for friends and family, or just make a really awesome apron for themselves. We are extremely proud to say that we have sold over 1K of that single pattern, The Jessie.
Our aprons are now worn in just about every country in the world and for as many purposes as you can think of. They are worn for business branding for small and large companies alike, Halloween costumes, Cosplay + ComicCon outfits, Dress-up + Birthday Parties, Special Events (yes, our Tuxedo apron was even worn to prom by a super creative young lady!), and of course, in the kitchen + hosting.
You've seen Bambino Amore aprons all over the internet, with features from HLN, Buzzfeed, Flipboard, Set to Stunning and The Mary Sue, just to name a few. And, we're sure you've seen them floating all over Pinterest as well! Maybe they've even shown up in your Facebook feed because one of your friends posted something about them.
Great, so what's the purpose of this blog? Another place to sell your aprons?
Nope, it's a place for you to get information - and if you want to buy one of our aprons or maybe some fabric from our destash listings, great, there's a link at the top of the page called "shop" for that. If not, that's great too - on this blog, our goal is to offer you free apron + kitchen patterns, fabric combos that turn heads, sewing tips + tricks, business + photography tips, recipes, and more!
Why? Because we remember what it was like starting out in an online arena with no way to learn the "ropes" so to speak. We remember how hard it was to figure out lighting our aprons and taking photos that were branded. We remember how hard it was to figure out social media and SEO. So, we want to help others who may need that same kind of help. No strings attached.
The only thing we do ask of you is to be respectful of our work. What does this mean?
- Do NOT copy our patterns, claim them as your own, or try to sell them.
- Do NOT copy our images, claim them as your own, or attempt to sell items based on them - they are not stock images.
- Do NOT copy our work - all of it is copyrighted information.
It feels weird to even have to add any of this stuff, but, it's totally necessary - I can't tell you how many people have alerted us to the fact that someone is using our apron images to sell a product they are making. Each time we contact one of the people doing this, the same answer seems to pop up - "well, I though this was a stock image". No, no it's not a stock image.
That was heavy...Maybe this cute pic of Princess Belle will lighten the mood a bit!
Mom + I both hope that you find this blog to be inspiring, educational, and a go-to resource for your sewing/business/recipe needs.
